Family Ministries focuses on people in relationship. It is a ministry that provides tools to help individuals communicate more effectively, deepen commitment in marriage, and assist in becoming better parents. Family Ministries helps families grow in love and live in harmony as the family of God.

The over-arching objective of Family Ministries is to strengthen the family as a disciplining centre. The family was established by divine creation as the fundamental human institution. It is the primary setting in which values are learned and the capacity for close relationships with God and with other human beings is developed.
Family Ministries reinforces and encourages wholesome families. It helps individuals build and maintain strong family relationships because it recognises that healthy Christian families make strong members for the kingdom of God and present a winsome witness to the community around them.
Family Ministries promotes understanding, acceptance, and love within the family and in the larger family of God and fosters the reconciliation and healing between the generations promised in the Elijah message of Malachi 4:5, 6. It extends hope and support to those who have been injured and hurt by abuse, family dysfunction, and broken relationships.
Family Ministries fosters competence in a variety of interpersonal skills needed in relationships. It provides growth opportunities through family life education and enrichment. It encourages individuals, married couples, and families to avail themselves of professional counselling when necessary.At London Ghana SDA Church, The Family Ministries Department’s prime objective is to help nurture and support positive relationships among single people, couples and families, the department takes the view that happy, healthy people, who are able to have positive relationships, can be powerful influences in the task of spreading the gospel in today’s broken world .
The department, is closely linked with the work of the Children’s Department, and also oversees counselling services within the church. The department works closely with church members to help enhance the spiritual and emotional health of families, both in the church and the local communities.
Throughout the year, the department organises events such as, singles night; educational workshops; and marriage and family retreats.
As the Family Department believes that parents should be the primary educators of their children, the department promotes special projects within the church. The Family Ministries Department believes that healthy families, and people, are important in building a healthy church and a healthy church is essential for a healthy society.
